From Crisis to Contribution
Our five-stage pathway brings together practical support, emotional wellbeing, employment, enterprise and community action.
People can enter at any stage, receive support from more than one programme and move forward at a pace that is right for them.
Stage 1: Support
Meeting immediate needs with dignity
We respond to urgent hardship by providing practical help, clear guidance and access to essential support. Our aim is to relieve immediate pressure, protect dignity and help people feel that they are not alone.
- •Emergency food parcels and hot meals
- •Financial support through the Hardship Fund
- •Practical support for refugees and asylum seekers
- •Signposting and referrals
- •Help understanding what support is available
Stage 2: Stabilise
Reducing practical and emotional pressures
Hardship can affect mental wellbeing, family life, confidence and decision-making. People may be experiencing grief, trauma, anxiety, addiction, displacement or long-term stress. We help people regain a greater sense of safety, control and hope.
- •Counselling and emotional wellbeing support
- •Pastoral care
- •Addictions support
- •Refugee and asylum support
- •Practical guidance and access to wider services
Stage 3: Strengthen
Building confidence, skills and readiness
As immediate pressures reduce, people can begin preparing for their next step. This stage focuses on building confidence, resilience, employability and readiness for work, training or enterprise.
- •Confidence-building and personal development
- •CV and job-search support
- •Interview preparation
- •Coaching and mentoring
- •Skills development
- •Business-readiness guidance
Stage 4: Prosper
Creating greater financial security and opportunity
Prosperity means more than income. It includes the wellbeing, confidence, stability and opportunity needed to build a secure future. At this stage, we help people move into sustainable employment, develop an enterprise or increase their financial independence.
- •Training and career progression
- •Business planning and mentoring
- •Practical guidance to start trading
- •Marketing, website and enterprise development support
Stage 5: Contribute
Using experience, skills and time to help others
For those who are ready, the pathway can also create opportunities to volunteer, mentor others and contribute to community life. People do not need to complete every stage, and contribution is never an expectation.
- •Volunteering
- •Neighbourhood improvement and community clean-ups
- •Supporting local projects
- •Mentoring others
- •Sharing skills and experience
- •Helping strengthen community life
A Connected Journey
Someone may first approach us for emergency food or hardship support. As we understand their circumstances, they may also receive counselling, employment coaching or business support.
Over time, they may improve their wellbeing, move into work, start a business or choose to volunteer and support others. Whatever a person’s starting point, our aim is to help them take the next step towards greater stability, opportunity and hope.
