Building Capacity, Creating Sustainable Income

White Horse Consultants’ partnership with Nelson Community Foundation takes a capacity-building approach. Rather than focusing primarily on direct financial donations, White Horse helps the Foundation strengthen its organisational capacity and develop sustainable, recurring sources of income.
Acting as a pro-bono strategic and business development partner, White Horse provides access to office and workspace facilities, commercial kitchen facilities, IT and network solutions, alongside wider professional expertise and business support.
The partnership is designed not only to reduce costs, but to turn resources and opportunities into sustainable income. This includes developing workspace to generate rental income, supporting enterprise initiatives and identifying new commercial opportunities for the Foundation.
This represents a capacity-building model of corporate social responsibility: providing the infrastructure, expertise and business capability that enables Nelson Community Foundation to become increasingly financially self-sustaining.
The long-term objective is to strengthen the Foundation, reduce its reliance on external funding and create recurring income that can be reinvested into supporting the local community.
